Knight Time is a 2D puzzle/adventure game with a difference. Spread over nine distinct environments it combines action adventure with puzzling by allowing you to travel in time. This is the closest representation to actual time travel you'll get in a game. Rather than using time travel as an excuse to jump between different historical eras you can actually move back and forward in time a few seconds or minutes.
By travelling back you can revisit a period of time you've already experienced and bump into an earlier version of yourself. This is where the puzzle element comes in, by returning to an earlier time you can take advantage of actions you have performed in the past. Say you stand on a switch which holds a door open. You can't walk through the door because as soon as you step off the switch the door will close. However, if you travel back in time you'll see yourself standing on the switch and be able to walk through the door. Knight Time is crammed full of time travel puzzles that really get your brain going.
Each location in Knight Time opens up a new set of challenges. Here's a taster of what each locale offers:
Glensdale tree village - Set within a forest tree house complex this area lets you chat to the villagers and find out more about the world around you. If you want to progress further than here you'll need to sort out the village lift by getting help from some of the villagers.
Plateau - Once you're properly on your journey and out in the wilderness you'll need to start fighting your way ahead. If you manage to tackle the vultures, evil cacti, cave turtles and grethyns you'll reach Camdo's mine and then you'll be ready to face the mining tunnels beyond.
Killig's castle - Here you'll receive the artefact of time travel and the fun really begins. Before you can progress you'll need to prove yourself worthy of keeping the time travel artefact by completing a dungeon full of puzzles that give you an insight into the power of time travel.
Bismor canyon - When you reach the canyon the only way is down. Chucking yourself off the edge isn't going to work though so you'll need to float down on the canyon plant-life. The canyon's oozing with lava and you'll need to avoid the jets of steam on your way down!
Petra - Petra holds the secret to continuing your quest but you'll need to solve her devilish puzzles before she'll help you out.
Tillig's castle - Being able to travel in time won't be enough to reach that dragon you're after but here you can collect another powerful item.... the Socks of Death! Nothing in life comes for free so you'll need to solve another dungeon packed full of puzzles.
The great tower - The tower has some mysterious properties. You'll find strange portals that let you shrink down to microscopic proportions or grow to great heights. Mastering these portals and solving the puzzles is the only way you'll be able to progress.
Black mountains - As you near the end of your quest you'll travel through the black mountains. Unfortunately this is where the goblins and various other nasties have decided to make a home for themselves so you'll need to fight your way through.
Dragon - When you finally reach your target you'll need all the skills and items you've collected in the past to defeat him. This ain't gonna be a walk in the park!
